We know you’re busy. You’ve got a life outside the gym. That’s why we’re all about efficiency and results.
There’s a lot of noise out there in the fitness world – complicated routines, endless isolation exercises, calorie burning workouts, and fancy gadgets promising shortcuts. But here’s the truth: the basics work, and they work damn well.
That’s why we train full body every workout.
Here’s the upsides of full body training:
- Scales to any frequency of workout/week. We have members that come 1 day/week (our monthly 5 punch pass), and members that come 2-6x/week.
- For those that are coming consistently this pumps up the frequency which is great for lean muscle gains (don’t worry fat loss happens too)
- It also works great for beginners coming 2-4x/week
- The advanced version lets you train muscles directly in proportion to their healing time (if you are too sore from a previous workout, let us know and we’ll modify the movement so you can work your hardest without feeling that pain, as if a muscle is still sore, it is still recovering and you probably shouldn’t train it. (We do our best to program accordingly, but depending on your recovery, you might need more time for certain muscle groups depending on how much you’ve trained them recently as well as in your life
- Training full body breaks up individual hard volume into multiple days if needed (3 sets of quads per workout might be easier for you mentally than 9 sets of quads 2x/week)
Now life is not always upsides, but we find that there really is only one negative to full body training and that’s the potential of overworking certain muscle groups if you’re coming into the gym 5-6x/week, so listen to your body, and talk with one of our personal trainers if a muscle doesn’t feel recovered.
So now that you know the positives and negatives, why do we do this?
Let’s get one thing straight: the human body was made to move as a unit. When you hit a full-body workout, you’re engaging multiple muscle groups, maximizing your time in the gym, boosting your overall functional strength, and giving you more time to live fit.
More Bang for Your Buck
Training your whole body in one session means you’re getting the most out of every rep. Instead of spending an hour working on just your chest or legs, you’re hitting all the major muscle groups (no junk volume). This not only makes your workouts more efficient but it also accelerates muscle growth and fat loss.
You’re also burning more calories (if you’re into that sort of thing), spiking your metabolism, (we know you’re into that sort of thing) and forcing your body to adapt and grow stronger due to the repeated stimulus.
Recovery and Frequency
Another reason we train full body is to optimize recovery. Hitting the entire body in one workout allows you to train more frequently without overtraining any single muscle group. It’s the perfect blend of intensity and recovery.
So let’s stop overcomplicating things.
Stick to the basics, train full body, and throw some punches.
It’s 100% effective – no matter your fitness level.
We’ll see you in the gym,
Your LV coaches
